How do I care for my wooden beard comb?
Your comb is a very special styling tool, and we're happy you'd like to protect the longevity of your comb. Here's how;
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Firstly, thank you for purchasing a Straw Boss Original! Great care went into designing and crafting each and every comb. We're so very excited to be welcomed into your daily care routine. We've included these tips to allow you to protect the longevity of your new comb, as we want you to enjoy it for months and years to come.
Storage. When not in use, store larger combs in their custom base. This will prevent the wood from warping over time, and protect against breakage as a result of improper pressure or strain on the neck and/or teeth.
Bamboo. Your comb is created from several thin cross-laid layers of bamboo. Bamboo is a strong, flexible wood. Though it has been finely sanded to remove threads, it may shed strands through use. This is completely normal, and does not affect the performance of the comb. It is simply the nature of the wood. Do not tug on any threads, allow them to shed naturally.
Oil. Your comb has received several thin baths of mineral oil. To enhance usage over time and protect your comb, you may coat it with additional Mineral Oil once every 3-6 months, should you choose. (Mineral Oil can be purchased at any pharmacy). The mineral oil will not alter the coloring of your comb. Allow to dry 24-48 hours after oilling before use.
What is the best way to use my beard oil?
If you're new to using beard oils and balms, we're happy introduce you to the world of soft, luxurious, and dander-less whiskers! The Straw Boss beard care line is crafted from the finest ingredients and essential oils – each selected to enhance and tame your facial hair, as well as to protect and hydrate the skin underneath it!
Application. The best time to apply oil and/or balm is right after washing your face with a non-abrasive cleanser. After a morning shower is ideal, as the hot water will open your pores and follicles, allowing the oil to easily penetrate.
Technique. A dime-size of product will do. Use only a small amount as to not overdue and create a greasy, over-saturated beard. Warm oil/balm between palms and massage into beard in a circular fashion from the chin upwards and out towards the temples. Apply evenly, and ensure to work the product into your skin.
Finish. Using your Straw Boss Beard Comb, comb in downward strokes to re-set and lay the hairs back into place. Your wooden comb will also help to disperse any heavy pockets of product without leaching it, which would leave your beard thirsty. Style as normal.
Are all of your products environmentally/vegan friendly?
We take pride in only utilizing vegan-friendly ingredients for all of our products. All of our packaging is either made from recycled or recyclable materials - down to the very packing filler we use in our boxes. Animals and the environment are very important to us, in addition to accommodating and respecting the beliefs and preferences of all of our customers.
How big/small are your combs?
We include measurements in every product listing, but here is a picture of our Bootlegger Collection next to a standard, Canadian Nickel. We'd use a penny, but they don't exist here anymore.
